Flesh Vs Venom
Tales of the Parrot House CD

Flesh Vs Venom have survived quietly around Melbourne for the past 5 / 6 years, with a few line-up changes, members moving countries, and constantly evolving sounds... The band started out after the demise of Melbourne's "The Vivian Girls", Flesh Vs Venom originally consisting of Amy Clarke (ex Ninetynine), Sean Bailey (Lakes) and Dakoda Abrams.. not being satisfied with the break up of The Vivian Girls, and feeling that there was still more ground to be covered and experimented with, the three enlisted the help of Mindy (ex Little Ugly Girls) to play bass... this line up lasted for around 3 or 4 shows, but with weird times, brought weirdness between them... After Dakoda and Amy decided to continue with the same name, they found Martin Evans (also in The Day Everything Became Nothing, ex At Sea, ex Breakdowns and many others) in a little warehouse on Beavers rd, and the band started again, this time as a three piece... Drums, Keys and Guitar... The sound was chaotic, jazzy and got mostly lost on crowds in Melbourne... Dakoda moved back to Canada, and then to the UK, while Amy moved to Berlin and that was the end.... Well, at least for the next year and a half. Finding themselves all back in Melbourne again, they decided to have a couple practices.. Their first show back was the 'supposed' last show at the Rob Roy, with four songs they could get together in the 4 practices they had... In the audience was old friend Tim Hillier (ex Farenheight 451)... Drunk, stumbling and slurring, they asked Tim to join in on bass... Back as a 4 piece, FVV slugged out a few shows, to a very uninspired crowd... Trying to find a sound and common ground they all could work within... After the past two years, they've come to find a sound unlike any other... The band are more controlled and grounded than they've ever been... Mid last year they went in to the newly built Head Gap studios to record 14 songs with Mr. Neil Thomason (ex Ricaine & engineer for My Disco and many others), 8 of the songs ending up on the album entitled "Tales Of The Parrot House" out on Exo Records. The 8 songs are somewhere between punk, pop and avant garde... standing out as almost goth. Flesh are about to go record three new songs for a upcoming EP, and a preview to their upcoming album, before they head over to America for a east coast / west coast tour in June.
